June Photo Challenge

For months I have been seeing people doing photo challenges or photo-of-the day things… and I’ve always wanted to do it, but it seemed like I would be starting at the middle of it or some of the prompts lefts me asking, “what??!! So I on June 1st. I just so happened to come across another photo challenge with the prompt, “B is for…” and I thought to myself, “girl you can totally do this”… the only problem was I was having a days long brain fart and couldn’t find anything… until I looked at my super adsorbs salt and pepper shakes… I’m mean come on they are lady bugs …

So back to when I was on integral I say the hash tag #fmsphotaday… and goggled it… and it took me to this website, and my first though was that it was a weight loss blog cause I read it as fat Muslim…(in all fairness I didn’t have on my contacts) Then once I put my contacts on and realized it’s fat mum slim…. my bad…lol

As time went out, I got more creative and started thinking out of the box….. I’m looking forward to next month’s challenge

Nail Polish Lottery Club – Week 25

Oh, how I’ve  missed you all, after taking a self imposed nail-cation I’m back!!! And I couldn’t be more excited to reconnect with the NPLClubers…

Are you still not sure what the Nail Polish Lottery Club let me give you a quick rundown; It’s a club for nail polish lovers. Do you have lots of nail polish you never used before? When I first saw the polish I was excited; it was yellow. I had three untried yellows in my collection and I’ve been pretty nervous about using it  and whether or not it would look good one me. I loved that it was a soft yellow (think of the color of a baby chick) and felt like it was a great starter polish to get me in the yellow frame of mine….

The application of this polish was a challenge. It was extremely streaky… even though I let each coat dry completely before I added another, three coats and it was still streaky, I was beyond annoyed. And seriously considered taking it off and chucking the entire process. I’m not sure which pissed me off more the streaking or the pooling…..

 

After all the hard work to put it on I slapped on a topcoat and BAM! instant smoothness and then I really started to see this beauty of the polish but you know me, I needed some thang more…. I needed nail art!!!! So I did “clouds” on the thumb and ring fingers of both hands. I wanted to use complementary colors so I chose Sugar and Spice (pink) and Sugar Rush (blue) Both from Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection… super easy nail art…. and super cute too!

 

So now let’s fast forward to today Wednesday I get ready to do my video cause I actually like this polish and have all sort of witty and funny things to say when bam!!! I look down and the polish is completely off the pink and peeling off the index finger on one had…. ARE YOU SERIOUS! I got a day and a half out of this manicure… no one (except my trainer and random strangers that I don’t know) got to see it! *sad face* Thank goodness I take pictures right after I do my nails…

 

This manicure started off trying and ended in total devastation, so this polish get’s a 3 out of 10. I seriously think my polish was defective. I’m not happy

Clearly 13 was truly an unlucky number for me…..

FMM:Ten Simple Questions

So I go thinking I was doing big things… got the email for FMM and posted it to my website, only to realize that there was a technical glitch on Kenlie’s part, so clearly I’m not as on the ball as I thought… so let’s try this again….

1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought? It’s too early, at least you’re awake and will be on time to the gym…

2. Do you prefer to pay for things with cash or plastic?  I prefer to use my debit card, I generally don’t have more than 20 bucks on me at a time.

3. What is one word that you use too often? For me, it’s not a word…It’s a phrase, “O….M…G”. And now that I’ve written/admitted that I feel really silly about it

4. Who is the last person outside of your family who said “I love you” to you?  I think it was my either my friend Robin or Paul…

5. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone and mailed it? If we are not talking about cards, the last letter I wrote was about 5 years ago to my father…..it was very cathartic

6. Have you ever been called upon for jury duty?  Yes,

7.  How many keys are on your key ring? At this point I think my key’s would be considered weapons… I have about 10 keys and assorted sundries on my key chain at the moment.

8.  List two characteristics that you want to change about yourself.  I wish I wasn’t as dramatic as I can be at times, and I wish I was more secure in myself.  (I totally stole Kenlie’s answers…)

9.  Do you bring your own shampoo and conditioner when you travel, or do you use what the hotel provides?  No, I love the little hotel stuff….lol

10. What is your birthstone?  Do you like it?  Depends on where you look it’s either a peal or an alexandrite…I’m not super excited about them, I guess it’s okay.

FMM: The Internet

 

Boy oh boy, when it rains it pours, I swear this is not a week that I ever want to relive, without going into detail I just want to remind everyone who reads this to tell the people around you how much you love and care for them, and to be kind to one another, you never know what struggles a person is going through…. and now that I have thoroughly depressed you all here’s this weeks Friend Makin’s Monday…..

 

1.  Have you ever met anyone online before meeting them in person?  Yes, so many people. Some of them have been wacko’s and some of them have become so of the most important people in my life. I even met a former boyfriend online before. My theory is; you met in the most unexpected ways, don’t discount it because you’ve met them online.

2.  What is your opinion on social media’s impact on our society?  Does it make life better or worse? It’s been good and bad, it certainly has made the world a smaller place, but I also think it has isolated us in a lot of ways, it becomes a real problem when your whole world is wrapped around social media…. get out and enjoy the world!!!

3.  Do you believe that it’s possible to fall in love with someone that you’ve never met in person?  Yes! Absolutely. And although it does come with it’s problems, I think it’s better to learn from someone

4.  Do you prefer to shop in stores or online?  If we are talking clothes… then neither, otherwise I love to buy stuff online.

5.  What blogging platform do you use?  (WordPress, Blogger, something else?) I do self hosting on WordPress.org, I was using Blogger, but it was very wonky…

6.  Have you ever blogged for another site?  Would you? No, But I would love to be a guest blogger…. hook me up peeps!!

7.  Do you use services like Netflix and Hulu? I subscribe to Netflix, but I also use Hulu, there are a LOT Korean Dramas out there, it’s my job to watch them ALL!!!

8.  Would you prefer to get blog comments or to interact on twitter? I don’t get very many blog comments… *sad face* and I’m on-off on twitter, and I’m currently off.

9.  Do you prefer to read books or e-books?  E-books, it’s so portable and easy to carry around 50+ books

10.  Share at least one experience that you would not have had without being a blog author.  I wouldn’t have known found all the great fit bloggers I’ve found, and I wouldn’t have found out about FMM.

Friend Makin’ Mondays: How Do You Celebrate?

So this couldn’t have come at a better time because tomorrow is my birthday!!! Seriously it must be kismet!!

But in all seriousness, I am facing 36 way better than I did when I turned 35. I am so incredibly blessed, I have people  in my life who love me, everyday I feel better about myself… I think my 36th year is gonna be one for the record books

(the women who I celebrate on MY birthday; my mom…through the years!)

1. When is your birthday?  June 11th, which by my accounts is tomorrow… whoop whoop!!!!

2.  Do you like to celebrate it or do you prefer to keep it quiet? I usually like to keep things low key, but I know for certain that I will be working out in the morning!

3. Have you ever had a surprise party?  No, I’m too much of a control freak…lol

4. What sign are you?  Does it represent you well?  I’m a Gemini, the twins… dual personalities… yep totally me! If I don’t know like the person… they know it. But I’m very sweet and loving to those I care about…

5. Do you tell the truth about your age?  Yes, Why lie about it? Plus I seriously don’t think that I look my age

6.  Share your best birthday memory.  It was my 31st birthday and I was really sick, I hadn’t officially been placed on the transplant list yet, but at that point it was merely a formality, I was swollen and jaundice and my liver and kidneys were hanging on by a thread. I was in really bad shape and I didn’t want to celebrate my birthday (because I didn’t want my mother to have that memory of it being my last birthday) I just wanted to stay home and snuggle with the cats. My step dad came and got me and told me that mom had brought a cake and was making me a “special birthday” dinner. I asked her to make me spaghetti (I HATE spaghetti… I don’t care who makes it …I don’t like it at all) My cousin Michelle came over and we just ate and watched TV and talked…it was the best birthday ever. I was surrounded around people who loved me and wanted nothing more than to see me healthy….. and that spaghetti that I had; I swear it was the best thing I’d ever tasted.  Obviously it wasn’t my last birthday, but it’s something so odd and life changing to be so close to death on the anniversary of your birth…

7.  Share a few item that could be on your birthday wish list.  My car to be repaired. a Tablet (iPad or Kindle fire, I’m not picky), some new workout wear, and iPod (mine recently died a horrible death… okay that was a like, it was like 6 years old so it’s passing was not that horrific)

8. What is your favorite kind of cake?  I’m actually not a fan of cake, I’ll eat it, but it’s not my first choice. My mother loves to buy us cakes for our birthday, and I kept saying I didn’t want on; but she kept asking… so finally we compromised on cupcakes…. so naturally she got two of the biggest cupcakes I’ve ever seen in my life..

9.  If you could be anywhere on your next birthday, where would you be? Considering that my birthday is tomorrow, I guess the answer is exactly where I am?

10.  Do you make a wish when you blow out the candles?  Who doesn’t?  That’s just crazy talk!!
