Writing Prompt: What Bores You?

r1

I am naturally a person who get’s bored easily… actually I’m not sure if it’s boredom or that fact that over the years I have conditioned myself to do more than one thing at the time, as I write this I’m playing Song Pop on my cell phone, Watching Full House: Take  2 (which is a play on words since the pop group in the series is called “Take One”… anyway) on my Kindle and writing this post and so far I’m doing pretty good at it. So the idea of sitting down and watching television bores me, I NEED to be able to do something else, even if it’s to look at my phone occasionally, just to see the latest passive –aggressive Facebook message that has show up on my wall.

Something that I have noticed…. particularly since restarting Prednisone that my patience is a little bit “thinner” than it was before and I tend to me more moody than I was before (all documented side-effects) and if people bore me, I will either zone them out… seriously I’m not sure how I do it, but it’s like I’m listening to them under water…. I only listen for key words and my name, which I know… if not a good thing. I have found myself having conversations with people I generally like, but either the conversation is getting to long, or I want to talk about something else…. I start to zone out and have to pull myself back in.

I know this is a bad habit and I might seriously miss out on something that I need to hear. So as apart of my “resolution” of trying new things and being more understanding I am learning more patience with people and hopefully they won’t bore more…. cause let’s me real I not the life of the party everyday (and nor do I want to be) why do I feel like people should be that way with me?

Wait, did I even answer this question? I don’t know I’m a little bored….. oh well

Ready, Set, Done!

Writing

Oh Dear God it’s back, how do these keep popping up on me? Anywhere here we go…..

Writing Prompt: As it’s been a while since our last free-write… set a timer for ten minutes. Write without pause (and no edits!) until you’re out of time. Then, publish what you have (it’s your call whether or not to give the post a once-over).

For the past few weeks I haven’t been watching television, and I’ve missed all of my favorite shows, not sure what the reason I stopped, I’ve just be submerged in Korean Dramas and Korean Variety shows… and naturally I blame Netflix and Hulu for that. But lately I was feeling down and was in bed and I couldn’t really find anything on Netflix or Hulu so I went over to DramaFever.. and watched all season and well as the new episodes of After School: Lucky or Not, then I moved over to The Return of Superman… which I thought was beyond cute, but I was totally confused about the concept until someone spilled the beans that KBS had put all of the episodes on Youtube with English subtitles (Bless You KBS). So last night I’m watching this show and thinking about why I’m so into it, then I realized something this is a “:real” reality show that shows the real relationship with fathers and their young children, this is so beyond watching “housewives” living in McMansions faking wealth and making complete idiots of themselves for fame. And it’s on the opposite side of the world of a fame whoring family who’s only claim to fame is a sex tape..

I like the idea of watching something that EVERYONE can sit down and watch without feeling like it’s too inappropriate, but more than anything I love that the concept is universal, no matter what your language, ethnic background these are shows that you can laugh and find something enjoyable about.

I admit that these shows are a time commitment, each show is roughly 90 minutes, and with 50+ episodes I’m gonna be here for a while …. but I don’t mind it so much…

FMM: The Internet

wpid-friend-makin-monday-for-post3-300x179

Boy oh boy, when it rains it pours, I swear this is not a week that I ever want to relive, without going into detail I just want to remind everyone who reads this to tell the people around you how much you love and care for them, and to be kind to one another, you never know what struggles a person is going through…. and now that I have thoroughly depressed you all here’s this weeks Friend Makin’s Monday…..

1.  Have you ever met anyone online before meeting them in person?  Yes, so many people. Some of them have been wacko’s and some of them have become so of the most important people in my life. I even met a former boyfriend online before. My theory is; you met in the most unexpected ways, don’t discount it because you’ve met them online.

2.  What is your opinion on social media’s impact on our society?  Does it make life better or worse? It’s been good and bad, it certainly has made the world a smaller place, but I also think it has isolated us in a lot of ways, it becomes a real problem when your whole world is wrapped around social media…. get out and enjoy the world!!!

3.  Do you believe that it’s possible to fall in love with someone that you’ve never met in person?  Yes! Absolutely. And although it does come with it’s problems, I think it’s better to learn from someone

4.  Do you prefer to shop in stores or online?  If we are talking clothes… then neither, otherwise I love to buy stuff online.

5.  What blogging platform do you use?  (WordPress, Blogger, something else?) I do self hosting on WordPress.org, I was using Blogger, but it was very wonky…

6.  Have you ever blogged for another site?  Would you? No, But I would love to be a guest blogger…. hook me up peeps!!

7.  Do you use services like Netflix and Hulu? I subscribe to Netflix, but I also use Hulu, there are a LOT Korean Dramas out there, it’s my job to watch them ALL!!!

8.  Would you prefer to get blog comments or to interact on twitter? I don’t get very many blog comments… *sad face* and I’m on-off on twitter, and I’m currently off.

9.  Do you prefer to read books or e-books?  E-books, it’s so portable and easy to carry around 50+ books

10.  Share at least one experience that you would not have had without being a blog author.  I wouldn’t have known found all the great fit bloggers I’ve found, and I wouldn’t have found out about FMM.

Until next Monday, take care of yourself!!!
