What I Ate Wednesday

So clearly this is not an original thought WIAW was originated from Peas and Crayons  and a lot of other bloggers have started doing it as well; and since I can’t be original and I really like the idea of doing this… I decided to give it whirl as well. This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…I always want WIAW to be an accurate account of what I am eating. Not everyday I eat completely healthy, but more often than not I make healthy choices.

As always my Weight Watchers Points into the fold.

This morning I started off light with a cheese stick and banana. My breakfast was 2 points

I am seriously addicted to these things now, I HAVE to have them once a day…. they are so yummy. My snack was 4 points .

For lunch I just hade a cup of grapes. My Lunch was 0 points.

This week I really worked on cooking my dinners ahead of time so that when it came time to eat there was no guessing about what I was gonna have. So chicken breast with wheat pasta and sauce and veggie on the side.

I get to the point where around lunch time I need to start counting my calories and points  and decide if I want to have something like ice cream… lucky for me it was in the budget today…This snack was 4 points.

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and today I consumed 1,070 calories even after having ice cream…. SCORE! . I used a total of 20 Weight Watcher Points Plus

The rule of thumb is that you are supposed to drink at least 8 and today I was able to get 8 cups.water

And that my friends is What I Ate this Wednesday; be sure to follow me MyFitnessPal or of you are doing Weight Watchers friend me there as well I’m TRJENKINS77

Since nothing was  posted on the NPLC Facebook page last week and I made that post (unofficially week 101) This will be titled week 101 as well….20141209_193445_resized

With the new year coming in the next few days (and a time for celebrations) I’m happy that this week’s nail polish pick reminds me (slightly of fireworks) of fun and festive times. This week I’m wearing China’s Glaze’s Boo-Gie Down.

One of the reason’s why I’m so excited about this nail polish was because I got it on “Super Clearance” at Ulta; what’s “Super Clearance” you ask? Well the sales price was $0.97 as opposed to the normal $7.50… SUPER CLEARANCE! I’m sorry, I’m a frugal gal and when you see China Glazes for that price not only are you forced to get them (even if you are on a no buy) but you have to love it no matter what it looks like based on principal.

Now based on the name I would automatically assume that this is a Halloween polish (going to do polish research now………) Yep, it is… this polish is apart of China Glaze’s 2013 Monster’s Ball Collection (maybe they should consider renaming this polish and putting it in another collection; Sinful Colors does it all the time… This polish is chocked full of glitter, everything from Marco glitters to bar glitters … in in there all secured in a clear base. I will say that when I say this Halloween was the furthest thing from my mind, actually the very first thing I thought when I saw this was, “this would be the perfect polish for a Saint’s fan (which I am not one…. Go Pack Go!!!).

And yes I know that it’s a topper, but I’m wearing it alone, much like last week… look at me living on the 20141209_193012_resizededge…Now this could be for various reasons, it could be the fact that the nail polish is a little bit older (maybe why it’s on clearance… excuse me super clearance) or the fact that this polish is packed full of glitter but it was a tad bit difficult to apply this the way I normally do, so I was forced to use the “spackle” method… I simply had to tab it one until my nail was covered.

One of the reasons why I wanted to try this one on bare nails was partly I wanted to get  a feel for what this polish could do and the second one was, I had the hardest time trying to figure out what color to use for a base polish, I wanted to wear something where all the minute glitters on the polish would show;it wasn’t until after the polish was applied that I realized that it right look really good with one of my teal polishes (I guess I have to save that for next time)

This week Tsuki graciously allowed me to photograph her with the nail polish right as she woke, I think she’s excited that this is the last pick of the year.20141210_191944_resized

I loved it’s Despite the issues that I ha applying this polish I still really loved it, this nail polish now goes into a special category of nail polish I own called Celebration Polishes, and based on that  and the extraordinary amount of glitter in this bottle I can’t help but give it a favorable score. So Boo-Gie Down get’s an 8 out of 10!

China Glaze Boo-Gie Down retails for $7.50

Until Next Time….

All Grown Up

Writing Prompt:  When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

I think the first time that I ever felt like a real adult was when I turned 30 years old, I think it was a culmination of a lot of things coming together, finally leaving my 20’s which wasn’t as great as people make it out to be, I was in a good place health wise and I was living on my own, in a place far from the rest of my family… more than anything else I think it was the very first time when the only person I had to rely on was myself.

Taking an honest look back at my life I think one of the reasons why 30 was the “it moment: was because at 19 I was diagnosed with my autoimmune liver disease, so a lot of those “adult rites of passage” I was never able to do. Because either I was to sick or it was strictly forbidden (21st birthday I didn’t have my first legal taste of alcohol…hell I had just had a transplant…huge no! no!), so in a lot of way my adulthood was stunted by things I really had not control over. The thing is it took a long time to feel like an adult, and even know 9 years later I can say that I’m not sure if I feel like that same adult I did when I turned 30, lots of things have changed, I’ve moved closer to my family, my health is a lot worst than it used to be, and I rely more on my family, and I can’t say at this point I fell less of an adult than I did at 30… just a little bit more stunted.
