Friend Making Monday: Food

Food

FMM-300x166

1. What is your favorite food dish? Macaroni and Cheese, honestly I don’t think there is a way that you can mess it up (well you could over cook the noodles) but any Mac and Cheese is good Mac and Cheese!

civil-war-macaroni-cheese

2. What is your favorite food type (Italian, Mexican, etc)? Mexican food

3. What is your favorite snack? Microwave popcorn

4. What do you usually eat for breakfast? This week I’ve been having this fantastic smoothie

  • strawberrybananablueberry_SGS0.50 cup(s), Blueberries – Raw
  • 0.50 cup(s), Strawberries – Raw
  • 1. cup(s), Spinach – Raw
  • 1. serving, Bananas – Raw
  • 0.75 cup, Orange juice – Raw

5. Do you eat your veggies?  What are your favorites? I do, and usually by breakfast I have my 5 a day in. I really love spinach, and broccoli (but have to limit those due to being on a bood thinner) carrots have been my go-to veggies (raw not cooked) that are easily portable and I often have a bag with me when I’m going on. I’ve been eating a lot of okra lately as well.

6. What is your favorite junk food/guilty pleasure? Chinese food

7. Do you cook most/all of your own food? I do because not only is it saving me money, but I know exactly what I’m eating and so it’s easier for me to calculate my Weight Watchers points. I also pre-make my dinners at the beginning of the week so there is no guessing on what’s for dinner, on a really successful well, all of my meals are planned out.

8. Are you vegetarian or vegan?  If not, have you ever considered or tried it?  No

9. If you eat meat, do you eat red meat, and if you do, how do you like it cooked? I eat a lot of chicken, turkey and fish, I’ve never really been a big fan of beef. I’ll eat it any way except for deep fried (and man do I miss it)

no_beef_logo

10. Is there a food or a dish that you have always wanted to try and is there a reason you haven’t tried it yet? I have never really been a fan of seafood, and a month ago I tried crab for the first time, and shocking I really enjoyed it (I actually think it was around the time that I tried sushi for the first time as well, and I really liked that as well)

Friend Making Monday: Christmas is Coming!

Sarah from Losing Weight and Having Fun is taking a break from blogging and in her stead we have Sara from Sara Runs this Weigh will be taking her place for the time being.  If you’ve taken part in FMM before then you are familiar with the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Christmas is Coming!

FMM-300x166_thumb[2]

1. Do you celebrate Christmas? Normally, yes; but this year I it’s gonna be just another day, with gifts… I’m totally not in the mood to do anything this year..

2. What are your Christmas traditions? We used to have them, but as we have grown up and moved to different parts of the country they slowly disappeared. I don’t really have any right now other than exchanging gifts with my family.

3. Do you decorate for Christmas? Not currently. With a new cat it seems like a dangerous situation… maybe next year I’ll get a small tree with the tiniest amount of decorations….

4. What was Christmas like for you when you were a child? My family didn’t have a lot of money when I was growing up, but I remember Christmas being just a magical time of the year, 5. Is there anyone on your Christmas list you don’t like buying gifts for? Why? Everyone, honestly I have such gift giving anxiety it’s not even funny, I generally just ask, “what would you like for Christmas?”, and give them that. Not really a surprise on their part, but at least they aren’t disappointed.

mas

6. Is there anyone you particularly like buying gifts for? Besides myself… nope!

7. Did you believe in Santa as a child? Do you remember when you found out he wasn’t real? I did then then one day I didn’t, no one told me it was just something that I figured out on my own, but the net Christmas wasn’t the same, some of the magic was gone Sad smile

8. I know Elf on the Shelf has only been around since 2005, but did your parents do anything similar when you were younger to make you behave during the holidays? No, thank goodness, I’m neurotic enough that might have seriously put me over the edge.

9. Speaking of Elf on the Shelf, do you have one? No, and to be quite honest I find it to be one of the creepiest things ever… No Thanks!

eos

10. What is your dream Christmas (present/decorations/vacation/whatever)? I generally don’t like to travel for Christmas, but one year I was in the Caribbean on the beach and it was magnificent, until I saw some strangers saggy boobies, but as long as I’m with my family I’m happy…. now we can talk about a post-Christmas vacation, I’m totally down for that.

And since I’m working on my Korean I bid you all 메리 크리스마스, 해피 홀리데이 모두 (Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays !!)

Friend Makin’ Mondays: Back to Randomness

FMM-300x166_thumb[2]

If you’ve taken part in Friend Makin Mondays before then you are familiar with the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to read and comment on a couple of other posts. I would love some topic/question suggestions from all of you, please email your ideas to sarah@losingweightandhavingfun.com

This weeks questions comes from ME!!

1. What is the hardest thing you have ever done? Realizing how fragile life is, it really messes with your head when a doctor tells you that you have to have a transplant…you come to the conclusion very quickly that someone has to die in order for you to live, I dealt with a lot of “survivors guilt” and the guilt came back two-fold when I needed a second liver transplant, not only was another person dying so that I could continue to live, but I also had to deal with the fact that I let my donor and her family down, by not being able to keep my first donated liver.
2. If you are at a friend’s or relative’s house for dinner and you find a dead insect in your salad, what would you do? If I’m at a friend or relatives house I don’t see the issue with telling them, they certainly wouldn’t hesitate to tell me.

3. What was the best thing that happened to you this past week? One of the best parts of me week is always seeing my mom..

mome

4. If you had this week over again what would you do differently? When I took my mom to the ER on Monday I would have been seem, totally eliminating me having to be in excruciating pain and going back on Saturday.

hospy

5. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God? Honestly I think of a regualr guy, sitting on a bench, eating a sandwhich talking to random strangers who sit next to him,

6. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten? Haggis… I can’t express how weird and awful it was

haggis
7. If you could ask Christ to change one problem in the world today, what would you like him to change? I would ask to stop war, in my opinion, war breeds inequality, ignorance and intolerance. I think the world would be a much better place, if we could accept the differences in people and liver peacefully. (yes I understand that’s a very simplistic view).

8. What book, movie or video have you seen/read recently you would recommend? Why? When I came home from the hospital on Saturday I ate, took more pain meds and went to bed, but lately the drugs don’t keep me asleep, so I’m sitting in the gust room at my parents watching Seed of Chucky, I’m not sure if it’s because I was super high but this has got to be one of the strangest movies I’ve ever seen. In all fairness I started watching the movie in the middle and I was seriously confused by the doll in the middle…I guess I need other people to watch it so that they can tell me what the hell is going on.

seedofchucky

9. If you had a time machine that would work only once, what point in the future or in history would you visit? One –Way Street

10. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I’ve said many times on this blog that I would love to go to Australia but the flight is so long

Now it is your turn to answer the questions on your blog and come back here and post a link to them, don’t forget to go check out everyone else’s answers too.

Until Next Time,
