Nail Polish Lottery Club – Week 11 & 12

I Red a Good Book Today by Wet n Wild (Mega last)

I was super busy last week working on some freelance projects and I didn’t get a change to do my fingernails (which was great I was able to give my nails a little break so I buffed out some ridges and worked on my cuticles), but I did do my toe nails with the color. I love reds, it’s a color that everyone can wear it’s a very sultry and sexy color but I don’t always like it on my fingernails, so this came at a perfect time, I was able to be sexy and sultry under my socks! (excuse the toes….)DSC02042

I loved the wide brush on this polish, I have wide nail beds (on both my toe and fingernails) so it’s pretty much one stroke, no mess!

Defiantly a 9/10

Now on to this week!! VIDEO TIME!!!! (totally didn’t happen this week either)

(I went with the 9+7=16 option )

Candy Coated by Sinful Colors (from the  Sugar Rush Collection)

I was really excited about this color, and really looking forward to using it, I figured it was the perfect Spring/Easter time shade. I feel in love with this shade a soon as I put it on my nails, the formula was awesome, Two coats and done! The color in the bottle is pretty true to what you get on the nail.

After a spending a week with this color, I noticed that my tips were getting a bit worn so instead repainting them I decided to fancy those sucker up, using another Sinful Colors Shade Frenzy; which I purchased last fall. I think the combination together looks fantastic.  As my friend Christy said, “Love! Looks like a fancy Easter egg!” That’s exactly the look I was going for!

I went from a week day to weekend look in 2 minutes!

Until Next time!

I have the right to want equality

Equality –  the quality or state of being equal527839_10151062993645995_86161221_n

Not sure what that means to you, but put yourself in my shoes…

Not so long ago a person of my race and sex would not have been seen as equal. As a Black woman I didn’t have the right, to vote, own property, or to have a voice

On January 1, 1863, slaves within any State, or designated part of a State … then … in rebellion, … shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free. And in 1920 I was told that I along with every other women in the united States of America can vote. I have the constitution right to be free to assemble and the freedom of speech… These are my rights! MINE!

I posted this picture as my Facebook photo 34999_10201064311348691_2108780870_a and the feedback I got was heartbreaking. I was called ignorant and uneducated by someone I considered my friend simply because I support marriage equality.  So I posted this on my Facebook :

People aren’t gonna agree on this topic; that’s a given. But when you lack a certain amount of respect to allow a person to have a difference of opinion, that’s when I go off. I will never belittle or degrade a person based on their beliefs no matter how strongly I feel against them. I think it’s time for others to do the same.

I am grateful and proud to live in the United States; despite all it’s flaws, I am grateful to have had an upbringing that taught be to love and respect people despite their imperfections, I am grateful and humble that I have people; good people who love me and enrich my life in ways I could never have imagined, I am lucky  to be part of the population to have my marriage recognized as a such in all 50 states, and I am proud to have a voice that allows me to speak out for my friends who don’t have that right. And I am strong enough to continue to do so despite what people will call me. This is my right!

And in case you don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself: My name is Tyra, I’m 35 and I’m a Catholic,  I’m  pro-choice, a democrat, I swear a lot, watch a lot of TV, I love boy-bands and hot Olympic Swimmers, I have a strange fascination with the world’s monarchy, and yes that saucy royal ginger named Harry is hot! And I’m think EVERYONE should have equal rights! Oh yeah, and one more thing …. I’m a Snarky Bitch, yet none of those things make me less of a person than you.

And just in case you need to find me and share you opposing opinion with me, let me direct you to where you can do that, cause I’m always ready for a fight you can find me here, here , here or here

FMM: Pondering Personal Thoughts

How does this work? Simple…
Take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here at: so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

1. How old would you feel if you didn’t know how old you are?  I feel at least 25 years older than I actually am. I think it’s a combination of the transplant surgeries and the anti rejection medication that I take, but my body has been through a lot. And I feel it !

2. Are you the kind of friend you’d want to have as a friend? I haven’t always been, it’s something that I’m actively working on. I think as I get older I am valuing the friendships that I do have.

3. Look back at the last year.  When did you feel most excited about something in your life?  The fact that I made a commitment to being healthier and I’m still at it. This is been one of the most challenging things I’ve  ever done. My weight loss has been 90% mental… confronting my self–worth issues has not only changed my life, but made me so much more confident.

4. Have you ever been with someone and not spoken a word, only to walk away thinking that was the best conversation ever?  Yes!

5. If you won 100 million dollars Monday, would you continue doing whatever you usually do on Tuesdays?  I wouldn’t tell anyone but a lawyer and my mother. I don’t think my daily routine would change except the fact that I would apply to go back to school to get my Ph.D.

6. What would you do differently if you knew no one would judge you? I would probably would become an actress, I’m super dramatic …lol

7. Share something you do differently than most people. While singing “God Save the Queen” I always no matter what start singing “ My Country Tis of Thee”… I can’t help it! I wasn’t born in the commonwealth. I’m American…

8. What’s one thing that you really want to do that you’ve never done? tumblr_mjf2xcTta21rlxkuho1_500Nathan Adrian… WAIT!!! You meant an activity? Wow this is totally awkward…. let’s just move on…lol

9. If you had to move out of state right now, where would you move? Arizona!

10.  What is the one thing that you’d like to change most about the world?  Remind people to be more polite, saying please and thank you goes a long way!

Be Kind to Yourself….and Each Other!

Nail Polish Lottery Club – Week 10

Once upon a time there lived an  young girl with 10 fingers and 10 toes who longed for the perfect blue nail polish….. did she find it?

(and because I don’t have 128 untried polishes I simply added 12 + 8 = 20)
