I think it’s well documented how much I love blue nail polish… many, many of my picks have been blue. And Blue polish dominates my collection. Blue reminds me of my mother, although her favorite color is Red, Blue is the color she would wear on her nails. Not only is blue a timeless color, it’s a color that works for every single season…. so it’s not that , so it’s not so odd that a blue polish was this weeks pick.

And what a pick it is.. Endless blue (from their Buff to Bright Collection) is Cobalt blue cream

For all those savvy conscience fashionistas this polish is a dupe to Nails Inc., Baker St which retails around $9.50.  This is also a dupe for Essie’s Butler Please, and that retails for about $8.00. I think Sinful Colors comes out the winner every single time! Although Sinful Colors retails for $1.99, this is a limited edition color so you might have an issue finding it (although I purchased this one a few months back at a Walgreens that never has good stuff) and the other colors are part of the permanent collection.

This polish was an easy two coater with full opacity, but honestly you can get away with one cot.. the only reason I did two was because there were a couple of bald spots that needed to be covered. and the best part it didn’t stain my nails! I love this blue…but you know me, I love a little sparkle so I had to add a little sparkly topcoat in the form of Sinful Colors Hottie,  this is also an untried for me; I’m not sure why I haven’t used this before since it layers so well with all my blues….light blue jelly with fine silver and blue glitter with larger blue hexagonal glitter, and guess what you could totally rock this little puppy on it’s on… so there without even asking I’ve given you two fantastic polishes when you only came here for one!!

Until Next time, keep those pinkies polished!

What Did Ryan Lochte Do?…Get a TV Show

I’ve been wanting to do a write up about this show since it  I premiered on the E! Network a few years ago, but I really wanted to get a feel for the show. A lot of things have; and continue to be said about Ryan Lochte: “he’s dumber than a rock”, “he’s America’s favorite douche bag”… but here’s the thing, I don’t buy it. This man has never once said he was something he was not, he never claimed to be a nuclear physicist. He’s a swimmer, and  a young man who likes to have fun. Because the others celebrities are idolized and have finely crafted images and fake personalities made and put out there specifically to market and sell movies and music and the like from the very beginning. I think Ryan  just seemed to be in the media too much so it annoyed people. People aren’t shy about why they hate him. People are quick to call him stupid and vilify him and you hear the same things over and over. Ryan doesn’t seem to hide behind the smoke and mirrors as much as other celebrities or public figures. People and fans think they want someone who is real but in reality they are always more comfortable with a façade, and at the end of the day Ryan really doesn’t care.

Now let’s be honest with ourselves. Nobody wants to watch some boring reality show…we watch the shows because of the “characters” and Ryan Lochte is certainly a character

The show itself is okay, I’ve seen better shows and boy have I seen some that are a lot worst….(*cough* Teen Mom ). This show is staged, but hell what show isn’t … I take that back I don’t think Married To Jonas is all that staged, but man is that show dead (and how it get’s better ratings that WWRLD is beyond me) but back to what I was saying…I’ll just say it in one word…. JAIME…

Some of the things that I love about the show, is the relationship that Ryan has with his family, they seem loving and close-knit and not all that different from any other family that I know. His sisters are a hoot, and they don’t hold their tongue, but they do seem super invested in his love life; and normally I would say that’s not a good thing, but if you’ve seen the show you know he desperately needs their help. Seriously E! needs to work out a deal with the two of them for their own reality show, cause Kristen grills his dates like their cheese sandwiches. His relationship with his brother was super cute, I wish they would have had the youngest Lochte, Brandon on the show, but I think that had more to do with him still being a minor at the time than anything else.

Some shows I liked better than others, but the last 3 were defiantly the best in my opinion, most of the time I wanted to tell Ryan, “slow down and think about what you say before you say it” but hey E! knew what they were doing.. they showed all his “dumb” moments cause he need to live up to that stereotype. (Which he uses to his advantage and is laughing his way to the bank thanks to his millions and millions of dollars in endorsement money) if I had a camera around me all the time catching everything I do without really good editing you would wonder how the hell I graduated kindergarten… seriously.. The thing that I didn’t like about the show is (although Ryan Lochte continnued to say it throughout his promotional tours that, “he wanted to bring the sport of swimming to the forefront”) And I don’t think it did that at all, although I am a self confessed swimming fan girl; and Ryan has been on my radar since Athens, it really didn’t bring anything new to my perspective of swimming, although it might have for others. I also was looking forward to seeing the Golden Goggles, I REALLY wanted to know about the chick that he took with him, and why the hell she wore that fugly dress

I get that this show isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but hell it’s Sunday and there was really nothing else on during that time slot, why not look at an amazing good looking man, with a hot body in a Speedo with a lazy tuck (evil grin)

lazy tuck ——>tumblr_mddzdaoHtT1qliludo1_500

If E! decides to renew WWRLD for a second seasons will I be watching??? jeah

And while I’m here, I might as well tell you all I will be watching “The Wanted Life”….and I feel no shame about it!!

Unboxing my very first VoxBox

One of the products in the box was  Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Geltastic, the product was is described as , “an ultra strong flex gel that provides all day definition and control and dries with a firm finish. Perfect for creating defined curls” And although I do have naturally curly hair, I am currently and have for the past six months worn my hair in braid, so naturally my first thought was how can I use this product and is it even made for African American hair, but I did try the product…. braids and all First off let me say that the hold is great and it smells good. This is the kind of product where a little goes a long way, cause if you do it will get “Crunchy” but generally there is  no flaking at all, and it does last all day. Another thing that I loved about this product is it didn’t dry my hair out at all… and that’s a big issues for me.

Overall this product isn’t bad, I think I would like it better if I didn’t have the braids in, so maybe I’ll hold on to this when I take the braids out or give it to me mom and see if she gets more definition in her curls. This product retails for about $18.00 at salons across America, and

Until next time, stay glam!!

The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

Summer Fun

1.  What is your favorite summer fruit?  I like a wide variety of fruits, but strawberry and kiwi’s are my favorite!

2.  Do you know how to swim?  Yes, I got to the point I got tired of not knowing how to swim, and even though I was terrified I learned, I’m not good at it, but I swim

3.  Do you prefer sun or snow?  I hate the snow…I hate it.. The snow is what prompted me to leave Wisconsin and go to graduate school in Las Vegas, anytime I can leave the snow is a happy time for me. I’m like a flower…I thrive in the sunlight (Did you know that Chicago had a 335 day streak of no snow this past year…. it’s was lovely!!)           chicagosnow

4.  What temperature do you like most inside your home?  67-69 degrees. I like it a little cooler in the house, especially at night… I don’t know why but I sweat a lot at night, so the cooler the better

5.  Is it humid where you live?  YES!!!!!!!!! Chicago is not hold barred, when it does something it goes to the extreme….

6. What is your favorite food to put on the grill?  I guess anything you can put on the grill, I don’t know about you but the grill makes everything taste better!!! Can you grill tofu? If so I’m willing to try that too

7. Do you prefer to wear a one-piece  or two-piece swim suit?  I wear a tankini, But the goal is a bikini….transplant scares and all!!

8.  What is your favorite summer drink?  Crystal Light, I’m addicted to the stuff… I will drink a gallon in a day… but I tell my self it’s okay because it’s super low calorie and it’s mainly water..1001029_043000949641_A_400

9.  Do you prefer the pool or the ocean?  the pool, as long as I’m near the edges, I have a HUGE fear of open water, I don’t know where it came from it’s just there. I don’t like the weight-less feeling of being in the water at all. I was in the middle of the wave pool at Noah’s Ark and had a panic attack, and broke out in hives… I can’t do water … too much of a control freak.

10.  What are you looking forward to most over the summer?  I don’t really have any major summer plans as of yet…..

This one was short and sweet. I hope everyone has an enjoyable week!!

Until Next Monday!!

I remember the 80’s so fondly; the clothing I could do without, but the movies and music seem so timeless to me, which is why I was totally rad that this week pick is an 80’s inspired polish from Missi Barry’s Different Dimensions. I’ve briefly mentioned Missi in a previous NPLClub post, so most of you know how much I love her polishes.. So this week was“Totally” (other polishes in the limited edition 80’s  collection include “Ditz”, “Whatever”, “Homeboy”, “Tubular and “Gnarly”)

Described as a neon with a scattered holographic effect; the closest thing I can compare them to are the A England scattered holos but that’s not even totally accurate. The biggest reason I love these, though, is that they are NEON scattered holos, and they have really awesome opacity. No layering over white required. Another great thing about these polishes is that the scattered holo pigment adds texture without greying out the base. For this polish you need 3 good coats to reach opacity, although the first two coats were a bit streaky but my final coat it’s not even noticeable.

Photographing this polish was totally frustrating indoors in looks more yellow and outdoors it looks more green

So you know me, and you know I can’t leave well enough alone, although this nail polish was fantastic, it (in my opinion) needed something more to make this feel more 80’s and I can’t top a Different Dimensions polish with jut anything, so of course I had to use another DD polish this one is “Social Suicide” from the “Mean Girls” Collection… other polishes in that collection include, “Boo, You Whore!”, “That’s So Fetch” and Wednesdays’ We Wear Pink” (don’t you just love the names?)

These beauties can be found  at the Different Dimension’s Etsy Shop  or at Llarowe along with tons of other gorgeous offerings too! Like them on Facebook for all the latest updates on collections as well!

I’m super, totally excited about seeing what everyone else’s pick are ….. (How many times did I end up saying totally?)

Until then, Stay Gold!
