More than anything I long for the days when the biggest decision I had to make was what I was going to wear to school that day, when the hardest obstacle in my life was a question on a test. I guess it’s true what they say that you don’t appreciate your youth until it’s gone….More than anything I miss having that naivety. I miss not having the pressure of always being on, being a responsible adult who pays their bills on time, someone who often has to think of other before they thing of them selves…. a person who thought that Saturday morning cartoons was the MUST EVENT for the week.

I learned really quickly that being an adult is hard, more often than not I have to do things I don’t want to, and the things I WANT to do often get put on the back burner. Adulthood is nothing like they made it seem on television. I don’t know anyone how lives like they do on Sex and the City, most people I know are living paycheck to paycheck…..most people are having a hard time, just like I am.

I long for those simple times….

Writing Prompt: The World Series starts tonight! In your own life, what would be the equivalent of a walk-off home run? (For the baseball-averse, that’s a last-minute, back-against-the-wall play that guarantees a dramatic victory.)

Ugh… more sports, is it every a time of the yea when there isn’t so sort of sports on?

But to answer the question… pretty much all of my academic career has been a Grand Slam.  School has never been difficult for ,me, but damn it 75% of it bored the hell out of me, and there is nothing that I hate more than being bored… so when it came time to papers I avoided them for as long as possible, now I know a lot of you would say, “well she’s a procrastinator” and that might be true. but after the assignment was given I would do all the research I needed to do and secure my sources… then literally wait until the night before to get it done.

Hell knowing I had a deadline  made it all the more exciting… and seriously that’s all I wanted was a little excitement..

Until Next Time,

Writing Prompt: Time to confess: tell us about a time when you used a word whose meaning you didn’t actually know (or were very wrong about, in retrospect)

This is gonna make me sound like an ass, but as an adult I don’t think that I’ve ever done that… let me explain… being a person with a chronic illness and being diagnosed with said illness when I was only 19 I learned every quickly how frail I really was… I have always felt like any day now my body would just give out and simply stop working; and after two liver transplant ad several surgeries later I can say I’ve been closer to “my body giving out” that I want to acknowledge. So I always felt like my brain was one for the few things that I could improve… and I did it.

I was always the girl would have to word of the day calendar and spent the entire day reciting that word. When I was English Honors 9 (in high school) my teacher would give up two words every week and we had to use them in our assignments… and we got extra points if we used as many of the previous weeks words, and for some reason I will always remember to two words from the first week (probably because I used them more than anything) (Juxtapose and Acclimate were the words by the way).

I (I’m about to sound like a freakin’ snob) I have issues when peoples say things to wrong way. I love my mother, and it’s been documented well on this blog and every where else, but she drives me crazy when she said Friday…. wait I’m sorry she says Fri-deeee…oh my goodness…. it’s . Another word that drives me up the wall when people say it… Irregardless, now according to Wikipedia it’s a portmanteau, but majority of the people don’t know that.

But here is a funny story I am teaching my mother to say and the appropriate usaage of the word “schadenfreude”

Until Next Time….
