What I Ate Wednesday

So clearly this is not an original thought WIAW was originated from Peas and Crayons  and a lot of other bloggers have started doing it as well; and since I can’t be original and I really like the idea of doing this… I decided to give it whirl as well. This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…I always want WIAW to be an accurate account of what I am eating. I think this Wednesday my Weight Watchers leader would be proud… every meal was planned ahead.

Something that I realized this week…. ever since I started my weight loss journey I have taken on the motto, “If I bite it, I write it”…. but for the past several months I haven’t been writing down what I’m drink (non water) and I think that has really sort of sabotaged my weight loss… well on of the many things.

This morning when I was supposed to be eating I was busy cleaning out my closet so the next thing that I know it was time to leave, then it was time to leave for my meetings so I didn’t eat breakfast until around 11am. Nothing special, just some cereal…. this month I’m trying Special K Cinnamon and Pecan (it’s really good) with some coffee  My breakfast was 6 points .

This was the last bag of cookies that I had… and please believe when I said that I enjoyed them! My snack was 4 points

Since I was out I got Subway, this time I left out the cheese, added a little vinegar and mustard and loaded up on the veggies. and the part that really hurt the worst is I didn’t get chips, instead I got the apples and had a Diet Coke… My lunch was 7 points . I will say that this was a pretty decent meal for the small amount of points that I used.

WIAWDinner Guess my Chicken on Wednesday streak is finally over. Today I’m having catfish that I baked and I used the Lemon Rosemary seasoning that I got in my Love With Food box , with some brown rice and some beets (my plate needed some serious color, and I really love beets!) My dinner was  10 points

So I brought these frozen cherries a while ago, I initially was gonna recreate the  beat berry smoothies that I got from Mariano’s but I wanted to to have them as  snack instead… let’s be honest they weren’t that great.. Sorry the picture is so weird, I put them in a zip lock bag after I measured a cup of them. This snack was 2 points

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and today I didn’t do squat… so I didn’t earn any extra calories., but I was still about to eat under my caloric goal (1035 calories). Weight Watchers:  I used a total of 27 points with 7 left over….

The rule of thumb is that you are supposed to drink at least 8 and today I was able to get 7 cups in (and only because my doctor told me that I need to start limiting the amount of water I drink…*eye roll*)

What I Ate Wednesday–Who Knows At This Point

WIAW Breakfast

Breakfast for me today started around 11am…. about 10 minutes after I rolled out of bed… so naturally cereal was on the menu.

I have times when I am seriously craving a certain food…. what I mean is I go to bed thinking like it and wake up thinking lie it…for some reason I was craving green beans, so like any “normal” person craving a particular food I sought it out and I popped opened a can… and enjoyed them…. now that I think of it I probably should have ad something else with it.. but  I didn’t.

20140730_114954WIAW Dinner This dinner was fun and nostalgic. When I was a little girl New Years Eve was always a fun time for my family. Mom would make pigs in a blanket and frappes make from sherbet with Sprite. (which made me feel like a grownup). So I on a whim I decided to make pigs in a blanket… but instead of making a appetizer sized one I made big fat dinner size ones… I added a little mustard and yummy!!!. It was fabulous.

There is something super satisfying as looking in the freezer for something sweet and finding a brownie… YES!!!

Not terrible exciting, but for someone who was determined to stay in bed all day. I think I did a pretty good job! So based on MyFitnessPal I did pretty good…

I didn’t did not  workout at all today… I barely had the energy to get out of bed.

waterI think I’m in a phase where drinking water is really difficult. I swear, but I used by large cup 24oz cup and just sucked it down while I was watching television

This week I really don’t care… I’m just eating whatever I want.

This morning, I needed to eat the fruit that I brought from the store… so this  I had some  eggs with cheese and cantaloupe

I got these Benito’s from this months Love With Food box..I’ve had this brand before, but I’ve never had puff before. They weren’t bad… plus it was a great alternative to potato chips, for 80 calories a bag… I think that’s pretty good.

I am still on the whole cereal kick, and when I’m hungry and can’t decide what to eat I reach for the cereal.

WIAW Dinner

I decided to cook tonight… well as much as one can cook using a George Forman Grill and a rice cooker… but I did. I call it confetti rice (even though I know that’s not what it’s really called  and I add carrots, peas and corn…. but then /I realized I didn’t have corn… so let’s just go ahead and call it colorful rice. and a grilled pork chop

I have been eating cherries for the past 4 days… I get like that sometimes I just eat stuff till I can no longer stand them… but cherries are not cheap I swear every time I go to the grocery store I’m chocked by how much they cost…

I should probably also note that I “earned” 193 additional  calories from exercise.

waterAnother thing that I am actively working on is drinking more water…12 glasses today…. not bad!!

This morning I was craving cold cereal, which is odd because it’s very rare that I eat cold cereal … thank goodness for fruit loops And now that I’ve eaten them, I probably won’t eat them 20140428_120208again for another 3 months. I know it’s probably not the healthiest… but the tummy wants what the tummy wants, but I wills ay this I really, really like the Trop50 I’m not a huge orange juice fan, and this doesn’t irritate me around the mouth like others do.

I found this by accident at my local Costco  and the box I found have 60 in them! Seriously 60… who can eat all of that?? So it was nice that mom was with me to share. I wonder if their sales increase when they are giving a product as sample? They certainly got us … I had this right before I went to workout

Bear Creek Tortilla Soup

I have to be honest that I didn’t make this soup from scratch, it’s actually Bear Creek soup and20140428_183244 I added my own chicken to it (I actually used to the rotisserie chicken that was at Costco… so no looking, and the bag that I had was able to serve 8 – 1 cup servings, and I paired that with some Rosemary and Olive oil bread… I gotta be honest I spent a good amount of time just sniffing the bread…. it smelled soooo good.

I really do love these things… (and to be honest I love them even more, because they are helping  get some nail polish from Special K) The perfect little combination of salty and sweet)

 

 

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and I didn’t get a chance to work out but I was still able to come under my calorie goal today…. I gotta start adding some color in my diet, I’m looking at the pictures and I realize how bland my meals are starting to look.
