What I Ate Wednesday : I Think I Might Be Getting Sick

So clearly this is not an original thought WIAW was originated from Peas and Crayons  and a lot of other bloggers have started doing it as well; and since I can’t be original and I really like the idea of doing this… I decided to give it whirl as well. This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…I always want WIAW to be an accurate account of what I am eating. Not everyday I eat completely healthy, but more often than not I make healthy choices.

As always my Weight Watchers Points into the fold.

So there’s a story….. there’s ALWAYS a story… I’ve been getting up at 7:30 and I’m usually out of the house 20 minutes later, so I’ve been preparing my breakfasts the night before, to save some time before I hit the gym. I decided to have a Slim Fast shake for breakfast and since I still had some frozen cherries I added a few in there to give it a little color and flavor….  and I was really excited to drink my cherry flavored shake. Well when I woke up the next morning my yummy looking pink shake turned a funky gray color. I don’t have a clue as to why it happened, I’m chalking it up some odd chemical reaction… but gray is generally not a color I associate with the food that I enjoy eating… I took it to the gym with me and was only able to get down about half of it before I started to feel really sick. Around dinner time I was finally feeling hungry…when something works I stick with it…. I had subway again this week; and it was chocked full of veggies…;and it was still yummy My dinner was 7 points

For me caramel apples are the quintessential fall treat… I LOVE them, and honestly considering that my stomach was super funky and I was still really queasy I ate it anyway… was I hungry….nope, this is a prime example of my being greedy. My snack was 3 points!

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and today I was able to “earn” additional 604 calories from working out.! .  Although I was “allowed” 1804  calories I was only about to got down 500 Weight Watchers I used a total of 16 points with 18 left over….and I earned 5 additional points from working out (Now I know what your saying…. girl you need to be eating more… I know I know, but when your stomach is super funky what can you do?).

The rule of thumb is that you are supposed to drink at least 8 and today I was able to get 7 cups in (and only because my doctor told me that I need to start limiting the amount of water I drink…*eye roll*)

What I Ate Wednesday : Sweet Tooth Overload

This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…

I always want WIAW to be an accurate account of what I am eating. Not everyday I eat completely healthy, but more often than not I make healthy choices.

Had the same thing for both meals 8 ounces of (Reduced Sugar) Vanilla Almond Milk and a scoop of vanilla slim fast.  I thought, if I had something that would give me everything that I needed with  low calories

  And since I am  a creature of habit I’m having Chicken, except I was so hungry I totally forgot to take a picture until after it was already demolished…. so thanks to the internet here is a wonderful stock photo of what I had (except it was in flatbread…. and it didn’t look that pretty), as well as baked Lays….

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and I don’t know what got into me, but I was able to “earn” 936 calories from working out. Not sure what got into me, cause that’s not the norm for me. And it’s not surprising that I went over my allotted sugar intake my 59 grams… hence the whole sweet tooth situation. Although I could have eaten 2100 calories and still been okay, it’s been years since I’ve been able to eat that many calories, and on the days that I’m working out I tend to eat no more than 1500 calories, (but more often than not I will listen to my body, and if I’m hungry I will eat). I don’t think that I did too bad today.

  The rule of thumb is that you are supposed to drink at least 8 cups of water a day, and I just barley hit that today… might have something to do with the ginormous soda I had…. I remember the day when a 20 ounce soda was like a little sip (the good ole’’ days)

Since the only shake that I had left from my Influenster sample was Chocolate (I hate Chocolate..) I had a Slim Fast shake for breakfast, not sure what was going on… maybe it was too warm outside, maybe it was just my stomach being weird, but it did not sit well on my stomach at all… I started to sweat and thought that I might see my shake again…. but it stayed down… so I gotta add that calories

WIAW Lunch

All of the sudden I hear, “I’m hungry, I need to eat or I’m gonna die” When ever you hear that stop what you’re doing and find food immediately… My mother literally saw Popeyes down the block, so we stopped for a quick lunch.

What I ordered was a 2 piece meal, which consisted of a breast, a wing, a biscuit, and a side of beans and rice with a sprite…what I ate was everything but the breast and half of the soda (which was flat Sad smile )

I was stuck in the car with noting to drink, and I couldn’t quite make it how with out dying of thirst so I popped to Starbucks and got a Shaken Iced Team Lemonade . The Iced Tea Lemonade is one of my favorite things to drink, along with the refreshers, because they are refreshing (duh) and they are low in calories

  I had to left over breast from lunch and bakes a potato…. nothing all that special..

But any who….  here is my caloric intake for today…. and based on the calories (let’s not even talk about the sodium) I consumed and how I feel I will be spending a LOT of time at the gym before I put on that swim suit next week

What I Ate Wednesday : Meal Replacements

This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. This morning I tried another shake that I got from my Influenster GoVoBox (Disclosure Policy) (yesterday I had the mixed berries and today I’m drinking the French Vanilla before I head off to the gym. Yesterday I used water with the shake (as instructed) but this morning I wanted to see what it tasted like with milk, so I added 8 ounces of almond milk (which in my opinion makes everything extra tasty and smooth) and Oh my goodness it tastes so much better

Just 1/4 cup of almonds…. the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and I usually have them as an after workout snack. As evident by the empty bag (as well as the number of times these almonds have made an appearance on WIAW proves how much I like them.

Did you know that regular consumption of almonds helps to increase the level of high density lipoproteins (HDL) and they reduce the level of low density lipoproteins (LDL). This balance is vital to a healthy cholesterol level, and a reduction of LDL (bad cholesterol) is always a good thing. AND almonds are a fantastic source of many vitamins and minerals, and phosphorous is definitely counted among them! Phosphorous can have a considerable impact on the strength and durability of bones and teeth, while also preventing the onset of age-related conditions like osteoporosis…. so eat your almonds people!!!

I had a Slim fast shake from lunch, as you can tell I’m following the Slim fast schedule, a shake for breakfast and lunch along with 2 snacks and a “sensible” dinner. What the hell is a sensible dinner? especially when you are drinking fluids most of the day

My mother is always asking telling me that my food is boring, this week she was right on the money, nothing I ate was terribly exciting, but I wanted to see how well these meal replacement shakes work, and from my perspective they work really well.
