What I Ate Wednesday

So clearly this is not an original thought WIAW was originated from Peas and Crayons  and a lot of other bloggers have started doing it as well; and since I can’t be original and I really like the idea of doing this… I decided to give it whirl as well. This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…I always want WIAW to be an accurate account of what I am eating. I think this Wednesday my Weight Watchers leader would be proud… every meal was planned ahead.

So the other day I was at my mom’s house and I noticed that she had all these greens that where about to go bad in her fridge, so I took about 5 or 6 leaves of spinach , figured I would use them in my salad or something, then I realized I could chop them up and make them into an omelet along with a weight watchers cheese stick. Paired with toast and some peach preserves… BAM! Breakfast!! Breakfast was 5 points.

I just felt like having oatmeal for lunch, it’s super cold outside.. so instead of the normal 1 packet I had I was a piggy and had two, it was very filling. My lunch was 8 points

When I woke up this morning I knew what I wanted for dinner and honestly I thought about skipping this week because let’s be honest onion rings and White Castles are not the healthiest, but it’s all about honesty here.  My dinner was 17 points!

So for my final snack I had tea and popcorn, a weird combination I know, but I was finishing the last episodes of Dream High… and didn’t realize until after I demolished it that I didn’t take a picture of the popcorn…. but at least you have the tea. My snack was 2 points

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and according to MyFitnessPal I earned more 797 more calories because I worked out (ugh) But that only translated to 1 additional point for Weight Watchers…. something doesn’t smell right here…

Also for the keen observers,  you will notice that the salad is not on here… yeah I added that to my meal at the last minute… you know how it is when you realize you have a plate full of not so healthy indulgences you need to put something on it to try to even it out …

So lately it seems like eating, especially in the morning is just not something that my tummy can handle, I just stuck with a Weight Watchers Smoothie, I picked these up during my last Weight Watchers meeting. Now the instructions say to simply add water, but I added a cup of Almond milk to get it a dairy serving. I was shocked that it “thickened” up and it was really yummy. I’ll have to keep these in mind the next time I have a sweet tooth. My breakfast was 3 points .

Cheese, who doesn’t love cheese? My snack was 4 points (I did have some tea about an hour later I didn’t photograph it, and it didn’t add any additional points to my snack)

Nothing to fancy, just a little salad… I had some veggies that needed to be used… so what better than a salad, with some light dressing. My lunch was 1 point .

It seems like it’s been forever since I had a burrito, but holy cow it’s a lot of points and calories….but I’m gonna enjoy this! My dinner was 16 points So after I ate the entire burrito I felt like I ate so much my stomach was gonna explode….holy cow.

Since I started the day having something sweet, seems only right that I would end the day doing the same. This snack was 2 points

My general caloric intake is 1200 calories per day, and today I didn’t do squat… so I didn’t earn any extra calories., but I was still about to eat under my caloric goal (1,140). Weight Watchers:  I used a total of 26 points with 8 left over….

The rule of thumb is that you are supposed to drink at least 8 and today I was able to get 8 cups in.water

What I Ate Wednesday: Salads!!

So this week I’ll all about light eating, and whenever I think of light eating I think of salads. the only problem is that I have to limit the amount of dark greens I eat due to being on blood thinner, which means so I have to eat funky iceberg lettuce (although I try to eat Butter as much as possible) instead of the raw spinach that I prefer… No more broccoli … I can’t even have avocado… hell those are the best parts of the salads I make *sad face*

Just for fun BuzzFeed posted The Top 8 Most Controversial Salads…. seriously the last one takes the cake…. what the hell is that?

WIAW Breakfast

Super early morning, so as always on those morning when I’m up and out before the sun I have a liquid breakfast… in this case my handy dandy probiotic smoothie.

Last week I made these, so I had another one today. Frozen Crystal Light in a popsicle form. Especially refreshing especially on a hot summer day. Plus it’s 30 calories!

WIAW Lunch

My aunt made this really fantastic pasta salad, oh my goodness so yum. Whenever she has a BBQ it’s the only thing that I take home with me…I honestly think it’s one of my favorite summer salads.

WIAW Dinner

So last week I had cereal for breakfast… and yesterday I had cereal for desert… it was amaze balls, but tonight I’m having Chicken. I don’t know what the hell is it with Wednesday and Chicken…. but yes I’m having chicken again… just like last week, and the week before… but this time in a salad… A yummy chicken Creaser salad, with a French baguette

Okay so it looks weird, but seriously it’s amazing, who doesn’t love, pineapples, coconuts, mandarin oranges AND marshmallows…. yummm! (Even if it looks sort cross between potato salad and tapioca….)

So based on MyFitnessPal pretty good…

I should probably also note that I “earned” 630 an additional  calories from exercise. Woo-hoo!!

waterAnother thing that I am actively working on is drinking more water…12 glasses today…. not bad!!

What I Ate Wednesday : Starting Over

This will pretty much be a mish-mash of stuff,  some days I will try a new technique or perhaps I’ll be eating something for the first time as is the case today… and someday it might be leftover chili…who knows, and I guess that’s part of the fun. When I first started blogging it was to remain accountable with my exercise and food intake, so this is kind of takes me back… Very little of this is planned… but it’s 100% honest…

For the past few months by weight loss has been an upward battle and the pounds have slowly been creeping on… and I’m sick of it! So I’m making a change (I’m hoping this will shock the system and work ) I have joined weight- watchers… so I’m gonna see if taking a different approach to food will make a difference.

  I’ve been eating blueberry oatmeal all week… so it’s the same ole same ole, except I spiced it up a bit and added some yogurt.

DSC02903WIAW SnackI had to run a quick errand today and I ended up buying my dinner and noticed that there was a Jamba Juice across the way… I can’t resist Jamba Juice.

So I had something called Island Strawberry Refresher , I thought that it would be a good choice since it was made with Coconut Water and I’ve been meaning to try it, but I’m afraid that it’s gonna taste awful.  So according to the website,  Coconut water, lemonade, strawberries, and sherbet—drinks don’t get any more refreshing than that. Unless, of course, you drink them next to a tropical waterfall, while a soft mist envelops you in its comforting, cool embrace. But that will probably only happen some of the time . I’M SOLD!

WIAW Lunch

  I have been craving eggs, like seriously craving them, and I think that I night have mentioned this before but I’m not a huge fan of eggs but I seem to really grave them during a certain time of the month. So I went a little untraditional for today’s lunch and made myself a simple cheese omelet with 1/2 of a toasted sandwich Thin…

Another thing that I am actively working on is drinking more water…so in addition to havingwater the Jamba Juice I also drank 14 glasses of water (I’ll be paying for that later I’m sure)

What I Ate Wednesday : Food Hangover

You ever have a food hangover? I tend to get them around the holidays, or occasion when a lot of food is present… so much food is presented to me that I don’t want to eat anything!! Nothing at all…nothing seems appetizing or appealing… and I enjoy nothing! Apparently that’s what’s happening to me this week…

So for breakfast I didn’t have anything special… just waffles and honey. For some reason honey has replaced my need for syrup, I refused to buy/eat it now… But since I wasn’t filling well and I needed to take my meds I wasn’t in the mood for something heavy..DSC02763

Funny thing is my mother asked me what I had for dinner, and I told her “multigrain waffles with honey” and the look on her face was completely horrifying… so funny… she doesn’t know what’s she’s missing.

And finally a dinner that I didn’t cook.. just put on a plate… and to continue with the theme, not that special… but I did actually enjoy the salad…. chicken… not so much…I think one of the reason’s why I didn’t enjoy the chicken was because I spent more time using my paper towel to soak up the grease off the chicken than I did eating it…

Also I should point out that I didn’t really consume that many calories, the chicken that I ate was a thigh and not a breast, I changed my mind at the last minute so  a few less calories…
