Last week wore I Love Nail Polish’s Birefringence, and as much as I gushed about it and although I was sad to take it off…cause let’s admit it, it’s a fantastic nail polish, and

with bottleChallenge Red-y is a blue toned from special made for a promotion for  Special K made by Nicole by OPI. The Shine Brighter campaign was introduced to encourage women to show off their confidence through color. Based on how many codes you were able to accumulate you would depends on the number of polishes you receive the entire collection include My Sol Shines Brighter and Live in the Momentum. I ate a LOT of Special K products this summer, so much so that now it’s the only cold cereal that I ate…. but thanks to my cereal eating I was able to get 6 polishes.

This crème polish and formula was smooth and very easy to apply. There was a bit of VPL after two coats…. so depending on how you apply it make take 2-3 coats. This polish is better described as a candy apple red , when you picture those old Hollywood vixens and movie stars this is the color they would be wearing. I felt superwithout bottle glamorous wearing this polish… I loved it so much I put it on my toes as well. You can’t go wrong with a red polish, and this one works really well on people with tan and dark toned skin.

Even though I love red, it’s not a color that I wear often, and now that my nails have gotten longer I think the red is a bit more noticeable. I had a lady at Wal-Mart walk up to me and ask me if my nail were real when  I replied that they were , she scrunched up her face, looked at my nails and “politely” told me that I shouldn’t wear that color because hey make me nails look fake. I’m sure I won’t be the first one to get a rude, opinionated comment about my nails…certainly I won’t be the last. (sorry for the lack up clean-up… I was super excited about this polish)

As soon as I sat this nail polish on the bed Tsuki wouldn’t stop playing with it I want to say that she was in a playful mood (but she’s always like that ), but not only that she wanted to do some sort of acrobatics…. she’s such a show off…  like me, she knows a good thing when she sees it.  And she knows that red looks as good on he r as it does on my … so because of the color, the easy application and the fact that some felt the need to tell my my nails looked fake I can’t help but give Challenge Red-y a 10 out of 10.

Until Next Time…

Nicole by OPI’s Mer-maid for Each Other

I absolutely love this color, I think the nail is perfect, like fish scales the polish looks different based on the light or your hand movement… so it’s wearing multiple polishes.

This color is a  duochrome green shifting to golden-green and blue. . The color change is bold enough which makes the polish interesting.   It dried fast and the removal was easy and I’m not wearing topcoat. Word to the wise this type of nail polish is really prone to streaking so that might sour your opinion of this polish, but I made sure to let each coat dry before I added the next one, also using long continuous strokes helps prevent the streaking.

I REALLY wanted to do some nail art with the polish, but after wearing it for 14 hours and constantly looking at my nails I thought, “forget it, let these nails shine on their own”, but no worries next week… it’s on!!!

Apparently this nail polish was a limited edition… which I can totally understand why. But with all limited editions if you miss out on it, you can always find a dupe around the corner and in this case .. you just needed to go to OPI and China Glaze.

I mentioned in the video that there was a similar polish to the one I tried this week. It’s OPI’s Just Spotted the Lizard also China Glaze’s “Unpredictable” (which is probably more identical to Mer-maid for each other)

So what do you think of this color? Do you think it was “mer-maid” for you? Let me know…

Until Next Week!!!!

Nail Polish Lottery Club–Week 15

Orly’s Rage

Oddly enough this polish was featured last week by April, so I ‘m not gonna go to deep into detail.  But this is the very first time using an Orly nail polish, and I was not disappointed… consistency, color, and application were all on point… it get’s a solid 8.5/10 Totally in love with this Rose gold metallic gold polish..  And since everyone has seen and commented on this I decided to use it as an accent color for my nail art. Since this color was covered, there really is no reason to make a video… April did an excellent job!

I’m gonna be a little honest I ‘m getting a little tired of blue nail polish…and I have a lot of blue polishes, and if I see  them one more time I’m gonna scream!!!! I will be doing double duty, as mentioned last week I am participating in Paint It Blue. I will be using various untried blue polishes . For more information checkout and be sure to use the Instagram tag #bluenailsforautism

So this week the blue that I picked was….week15Collage

I feel like this color is similar to the blue that I wore last week, but this one has a bit more shimmer than the previous one. How is it that it’s the third week I’m doing this and I’m totally over it… Why does April have some many Tuesdays?? LOL
