My Ghost Story

So since it’s Halloween, I thought that I would share some creepy, but absolutely true paranormal incidents that have happened to me.

My very first “incident” happened when I was around 5 or 6. I woke up in the middle of the night, (my mom was sleeping beside me) to look into the hallway and I saw what looked like gray people walking towards the bathroom, I just remember being scared, so I got closed my eyes and hoped it went away. This became pretty regular, and at least once a week…. I figured it was my imagination, so I never anyone, besides I was a little girl, people would say I had an overactive imagination. Years later I told my mother, she got this weird look on her face and said that she remembers having an incident with a “ghost like entity” there as well…

It wasn’t until after I graduated high school that the second incident occurred. Once again I was sleeping in bed (what the heck is it with beds?),  What woke me up was my bed dipping, I felt someone snuggle up beside me, so a I tried to regulate my breathing so I wouldn’t alert the intruder that I was awake. I felt the person start to touch me. I was sure the intruder was going to rape me, I HAD to run. I didn’t even count, I just ran for life. Something told me to turn around…By the time I got to the kitchen I looked back and my bed was completely empty. I bravely walked back, turned on the light then checked every crevice, of the room, then I searched the house… checked the locks…..nothing… Nothing was there. Could it have been a panic attack? But how do you account for my bed dipping and feeling hot breathe on the back of my neck?….

I moved into my college dorm, college life was great, my I always felt like something was off on my floor, I kept getting the feeling that someone died, more specifically someone killed themselves, and naturally I never said anything…. cause who wants their roommates to think they are psycho. But I would frequently have the same dream about being told to stay in my room by my dorm advisor, and there being a lot of police outside and huge search lights aimed at my window. I figured it was a mixture of freshman anxiety and reading about urban legends…. so like always I let it go. It wasn’t until one night my roommate was gone (she was a basketball player and was frequently gone for away games) and I had this dream that this girl was crying and yelling at me… she can’t screaming “Why won’t anyone believe me!” I never responded because I had no clue what was going on so I turned my back on her, then I heard heard her say, “I’ll make you believe me”…. then she literally punched my back. I woke up up frightened, but more than that my back was burning, like I had just gotten hit. I turn on the lights, and look at the roommate’s bed,… still empty, so then I got up and checked the doors, completely locked. I actually stayed up that night and as soon as it the sun came up, I hopped on the bus and went home.

When I moved to Las Vegas I never had any incidents… and it sort of seemed like put the past incidents in the back of my head, until I went on a cruise to the Southern Caribbean and one of our stops was Barbados and we were taking a tour of Sunbury Plantation House in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Sunbury plantation was started in around 1660, and was a large sugar plantation worked by slaves currently the house is used for some government relations functions, it’s also has a restaurant and is used for wedding; Now before I begin this house is absolutely beautiful…  pretty much everything in the home is from the 1600 and the house has been beautifully restored. The group walked into one of the bedrooms, and the tour guide said that this would be a typical bedroom for a woman…I found myself gravitating towards the crib, honestly it was like I was being pulled to the crib, there was one doll that I couldn’t take my eyes off, it wasn’t unusual, it was a normal doll, but it almost felt like that doll was speaking to me… I kept staring at it until my roommate touched my arm, then it was like the “spell” was over… we continued the tour of the house and finally we went to the basement, there were a lot of tools and such down there and I nearly lost it… I got a really bad feeling, it felt like something was squeezing my chest, I started sweating profusely, I got really dizzy and I felt like I was going to pass out.… I looked to my roommate in a panic and told her I had to go outside…I thought that maybe if I went out side and sat in the sun while taking slow, deep breathes I would calm down, I was not unnerved I decided to pray, and asked God to protect me.  I stayed out there was praying for maybe 15 minutes until she came out to get me. Even after we left I continued to feel unnerved.

At dinner that night I she asked me why I freaked out… and I told her, she looked at me and said, “Tyra I got a bad feeling in that house too”. Now I have never claimed to be psychic or intuitive, but I trust my instincts ALL THE TIME and that house was not kosher… there was something that didn’t feel good… and considering the history of the house it made total sense.

Now that I have told you a few of my “incidents”  do you have any to share?

Since nothing was  posted on the NPLC Facebook page last week and I made that post (unofficially week 101) This will be titled week 101 as well….20141209_193445_resized

With the new year coming in the next few days (and a time for celebrations) I’m happy that this week’s nail polish pick reminds me (slightly of fireworks) of fun and festive times. This week I’m wearing China’s Glaze’s Boo-Gie Down.

One of the reason’s why I’m so excited about this nail polish was because I got it on “Super Clearance” at Ulta; what’s “Super Clearance” you ask? Well the sales price was $0.97 as opposed to the normal $7.50… SUPER CLEARANCE! I’m sorry, I’m a frugal gal and when you see China Glazes for that price not only are you forced to get them (even if you are on a no buy) but you have to love it no matter what it looks like based on principal.

Now based on the name I would automatically assume that this is a Halloween polish (going to do polish research now………) Yep, it is… this polish is apart of China Glaze’s 2013 Monster’s Ball Collection (maybe they should consider renaming this polish and putting it in another collection; Sinful Colors does it all the time… This polish is chocked full of glitter, everything from Marco glitters to bar glitters … in in there all secured in a clear base. I will say that when I say this Halloween was the furthest thing from my mind, actually the very first thing I thought when I saw this was, “this would be the perfect polish for a Saint’s fan (which I am not one…. Go Pack Go!!!).

And yes I know that it’s a topper, but I’m wearing it alone, much like last week… look at me living on the 20141209_193012_resizededge…Now this could be for various reasons, it could be the fact that the nail polish is a little bit older (maybe why it’s on clearance… excuse me super clearance) or the fact that this polish is packed full of glitter but it was a tad bit difficult to apply this the way I normally do, so I was forced to use the “spackle” method… I simply had to tab it one until my nail was covered.

One of the reasons why I wanted to try this one on bare nails was partly I wanted to get  a feel for what this polish could do and the second one was, I had the hardest time trying to figure out what color to use for a base polish, I wanted to wear something where all the minute glitters on the polish would show;it wasn’t until after the polish was applied that I realized that it right look really good with one of my teal polishes (I guess I have to save that for next time)

This week Tsuki graciously allowed me to photograph her with the nail polish right as she woke, I think she’s excited that this is the last pick of the year.20141210_191944_resized

I loved it’s Despite the issues that I ha applying this polish I still really loved it, this nail polish now goes into a special category of nail polish I own called Celebration Polishes, and based on that  and the extraordinary amount of glitter in this bottle I can’t help but give it a favorable score. So Boo-Gie Down get’s an 8 out of 10!

China Glaze Boo-Gie Down retails for $7.50

Trick or Treat

Writing Prompt: It’s Halloween, and you just ran out of candy. If the neighborhood kids (or anyone else, really) were to truly scare you, what trick would they have to subject you to?

If I ran out of candy, it’s a 99 percent change because I ate it all while waiting for the kiddies to ring the door bell, and if that did in fact happen, I’m fearing the rage that my stomach is gonna let loose in a few hours, believe me it’s not gonna be pretty… my stomach and lots of sugar = lots of time in the bathroom.

But let’s just say for the sake of this prompt I exercised some self control and actually help the candy for the trick –or-treaters the scariest and the cruelest thing that they could do to be is shut my cable off. Seriously… I’m a creature of habit on Friday’s I spend most of the evening watching Mysteries at the Museums (and just to prove my point Travel Channel decided to do some special Halloween programing so I was stuck watching the uber douche bags from Ghost Adventures) You know what I changed my mine, subjecting me to those three for an extended amount of time id by far the cruelest thing someone could do to me.

Trio No. 3

Writing Prompt: Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your post must mention a dark night, your fridge, and tears (of joy or sadness; your call). Feel free to switch one ingredient if you have to (or revisit one from previous trio prompts).

Today, is Halloween and  it’s your favorite holiday, the treats, the costumes and the scary movies!   You’ve decided to spend your Friday night with your  three favorite guys, Ben, Jerry and Freddie (Kruger), it’s Halloween and you don’t have any plans.. besides it’s becoming a tradition Movie is set in the DVR,  Lights are turned of , so that it’s nice and  dark,  you sit down one the couch ready to start the movie when you realize you have left Ben and Jerry in the fridge.

Crap! It’s dark tonight, so you should probably turn the lights back on… Wait! what’s that noise? You search out for your cat, then you realize that she’s sitting next to you snoozing away…. What the hell is that noise?! You pause the movie to hear better…. there is it again. So here’s the thing you can either die with a tub of ice cream next to your cat , or you die like a champ with a bat in your hand.

You slowly creep to the door when all of the sudden you feel the most excruciating pain you’ve ever felt. That damn end table… you promised yourself that you were gonna move it yesterday and you didn’t.. and now you’re have a possible broken toe, you fall to the floor tears falling down your face, holding on to your precious throbbing baby toe. You momentarily forgotten about the mass murder at your door when all of the sudden you hear your phone ringing, “Hello?”, you answer. “Tyra, what’s wrong I hear you crying through the door” my mom replies. “That was you outside making all that noise?” you ask one the verge of hysteria, “Duh!, you told me to come over, open the door, I gotta pee!”

You open the door to find your mother with a package of cookies, so naturally all is forgiven.
