Nerves

 

Two weeks is a long time to be “radio silent” but unfortunately I was in apparently I have (its getting much better) a pinched never and it was extremely painful. My back and neck where in immense pain and my arms and legs were numb 80% of the time. Sitting up and holding my head up felt like it was too much, so I spent the majority of the time in bed, and drugged out of my mind. When I was awake I knitted, and while I was knitting I was either super pissy or on the verge of tears. Two weeks is too long to be awake from my blog and even though I’m not 100% I’m back!  So let’s get started with this prompt for today!

Writing Prompt: Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.(Nerve)

 

So I guess this will be a continuation of what I was writing about before… something that I realized while dealing with this pinched nerve is that I have a higher pain tolerance than what people expect, guess that’s what happens when you are chronically ill person who experiences what I call a low buzz of pain on the  daily basis, it’s really got to be something for me to be considered “in pain”. Nerves are a funny thing, the real ones and the imaginary ones too, cause while the ones in my body where going haywire, my “imaginary nerves were going bonkers are well… cause everyone was getting on them..

My cat got on my last nerves, she wanted to lay on me, which I know she was probably trying to be comforting, but she only made me hurt more, and because I couldn’t ‘t get comfortable, even high as a kite on pain meds I would be up all night tossing and turning, while she’s laying in the middle of my bed, belly up to the sky, knocked out like it was the best sleep ever. My brother got on my nerves, because just when I would fall asleep, it would be the time that he would turn his anime up loud and it would wake me up…..

One thing I did learn the past two weeks, pain makes you humble. As I laid in my bed and thought about all the things I couldn’t do I realized that the my brother and my cat.. they annoyed the hell out of me, but they were there, My brother would run to my room when I was crying because I needed to get out of bed to pee, and my cat escorted me to the bathroom each and every time, waited for me, walked me back to my bed, then waited until I was settled to lay next to me.

So my take away for the past two weeks is NERVES, real or imaginary will get you every time.

Vox, Vox and Virtual Vox – Influenster Reviews

Although I get a lot of boxes , samples, and freebies, I am always excited to hear that I have been picked to receive one of the Influenster VoxBox boxes!

If you aren’t familiar with Influenster, it is a free-to-join community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. They invite members to sample their “VoxBox” programs, totally free of charge in exchange for sharing honest opinions in via reviews and on special media. You don’t need to have a blog to be eligible or anything like that.  Anyone Can Signup!

Based on the quiz that you fill out when they”pre-select” you for this box, you can generally get a pretty good idea of what’s in the box.  Of course, you don’t know for sure until it comes, but I had an idea of what to expect.

This is the first time that I got 3 Voxes at the same time.

 

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

After spending 3 minutes antagonizing over which was my shade turns out I was wrong, the shade that I received from Influenster was wrong…. Now I can’t truly be mad at the Maybelline or Influenster because we had to take a survey and guess based on the pictures provided. Of course they could’ve been lighter on the survey than my skin tone. What I didn’t know what this is not a new product, but it is a products that was coming out with new shades (which is always good for us WOC)

The foundation that I ended up getting was Matte + Poreless  Version in 332 Golden Caramel. So I am nothing if not resourceful. And contacted Influenster and a new bottle was shipped to me. I probably should say that I don’t normally wear foundation, partly because I will probably only wear it once or twice a month…and honestly I don’t think that it makes a big difference in the way that my skin looks.

So part of the requirements of this review I had to do a Before and After. So I did, and here are the results: I will say that my skin looks healthier, more even and seems to have a glow on it…overall I’m, pleased (and shocked) with the results… not a major difference but a subtle difference. I like this product. I got a lot of complements that day…. and that’s always a positive.

The thing that I hate about sports bras is the dreaded uni-boob, My local Wal-Mart, grocery store, bank and Starbucks are literally a hop, skip, and a jump from my gym, so more often than not after I go to the gym I will run errands before I head home and change, it’s bad enough that I have to deal with uni-boob at the jump (where it seems to be socially acceptable) but to deal with it in public is a no-no. I didn’t even realized that I qualified for the Virtual Vox, but was extremely happy when I did.

So I got a 40% off coupon that I could redeem at Target for a C9 Sports Bra. And was happy to see that a lot of the bras had cups and adjustable backs. The only problem that I had was trying to figure out which one I wanted, honestly there were so many to chose from, and all of them were cute. And since my coupon only allowed me to get one at the discounted price, I HAD to chose.

The following day I tested out the sports bra, the fit was good, a little snug, but that was expected since I’m between sizes at the moment, if I had gone a size up it would have been way too loose. so since I’m back in the gym maybe I’ll lose a few pounds and the fit will be perfect (Why do we always say that?) The think that I liked the most is that the uni-boob was gone. I worked out and ran an errand with two defined boobs, and it looked like I was wearing a regular bra. The hold of the bra was medium, I wasn’t bouncing everywhere, but it was comfortable enough to go through my workout and not feel constricted in any way. Overall I really liked this sports bra and will defiantly go back to Target to get more.

 

 

 

CVS Unilever Dry Spray VoxBox

I generally like to stick with what I know… I like stick deodorant.. I don’t know why I just do. So low and behold Influenster sent me a some to try…which is great… cause seriously I was running out; but I gotta admit I was slightly disappointed when I realized that it was a spray. I began to conjure up thoughts of a wet underarm.. NOT COOL!.I was pleasantly surprised that I like it!  When I sprayed it under my arm, it dried immediately. The scent was pleasant and I have had more than one person ask me what was I wearing because it smelled so good.  When I told them it was my deodorant, you should’ve witnessed the look of surprise on their faces!

I like not having to check my clothing for deodorant stains.  No stain or residue is left on my clothing like I experienced with the other deodorants I have previously used

Writing Prompt: Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt- Object

 

Last Sunday after my Weight Watchers meeting, I  walked to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things that I needed for the week, I also picked up a birthday card for my step father who’s birthday was on Sunday To be honest I was feeling blah, my weight loss is not going as expected, I had a lot of things that I needed to do (complete a grant) and really didn’t have the energy or the brain capacity to do it, and on top of that I had to spend time with people I don’t particularly like..

So I’m looking at all the greetings cards, and I trying to figure out which one I like, and which one conveys what I’m trying to say,.. while trying to remember what card I got him last year. and finally I see it, I see the card that I want to get. and as I;m looking at the card I see the card right above it. I quickly put the first birthday card in my basket and pick up the one that catches my eye,

It’s a quote from Winnie The Pooh, I read the quote and I smile, it’s funny it was exactly what I needed to see. I needed to reminded of those things. I seriously looked at the card for about five minutes before I decided to pick it up in my basket, and as if on auto pilot, I went and found the aisle with the frames, and stuck that in my basket as well…

So what used to be a birthday card, is now sitting in a frame above my mirror so I can see it everyday to remind me that I’m stronger than I think. Who would have thought a little object which was made for one intention, found it’s way into my home to become a little daily inspiration.

Sentimental

 

 

Writing Prompt: Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt – Sentimental

 

 

 

I for sure think that being sentimental has allowed me to hold on to things and to relationships longer than I should have. The other day I was laying in my bed and I realized, “I got too much crap”…. like seriously. Why do I own so much useless stuff It’s starting with my closet…if I haven’t worn it in a year, despite how cute it is no matter how many times I’ve worn it, no matter what size, if I haven’t worn it in a year it’s going to the “Donate” pile.  Now I have to go through my shoes (Which probably be this weekend.

Also DVD’s and CD’s are getting donated. Each and every DVD I brought because I liked the movie, but with Hulu, Netflix, Redbox do I really need the 200+ DVD’s cluttering up my space? I just need to make sure that each DVD is actually in the case, I’m asking everyone to wish me luck’ cause I might get a little sentimental and decide I want to keep this and keep that… then this whole spring cleaning will me for naught
