Writing Prompt: Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth — or with dread?
They say that autumn is a season of renewal and preparation, while most people feel like the beginning of the year is a time for renewal and reflection… I have always looked to autumn. I think it has a lot to do with school starting in the autumn, a new grade, meeting new friends, a new, fresh start. As an adult it’s a little a ironic that (on my side of the world) when things are slowing down and dying I reflect; on the past year and things I need to work on and things I need to eliminate. Fall for me always reminds me of Pumpkin (Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Spiced Lattés and those super high calorie Pumpkin donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts) and harvest and Halloween (my favorite holiday). Autumn has it’s own unique smell of a wood fireplace on a crisp, falling evening,or the smells of decomposing leaves on the wet ground or maple trees and pumpkins.
There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about Autumn I love the cooler weather, which allows me to bring out the sweaters and the boots… except that it will end and winter will come
Until Next Time….
