The Mirror Crack’d

Writing Prompt: You wake up one morning to a world without mirrors. How does your life — from your everyday routines to your perception of yourself — change?

Not that much, it would probably make putting my contacts in and brushing my teeth, but on the average I don’t really look in the mirror…. I have a love hate relationship with mirrors, I love them for decorative purposes, but beyond that I really try not to look in them.

I have mentioned my hate relationship with mirrors, and I think that it has to do with more than anyone else I am over critical of myself, especially when it comes to my weight loss and gain. When it comes to weight loss they say mirrors and clothes don’t lie, on the other hand mirrors don’t hid the ugly truth either… it’s hard to see any accomplishment when I can look in the mirror and see fat that needs to be gone…. especially when you’re at a standstill like I currently am.

Mirrors don’t lie. Lucky for me, they can’t laugh either…. so I guess that’s a positive

Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to read and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic! This week’s questions ‘more randomness’ come from me! If you would like to submit questions for Friend Makin’ Monday… email them to

So what were my Mountains and Molehills this week? My Mountain this is…I got nothing… it’s been a pretty even week for me… and I would have to say the same as far as my Molehills too …. if I can have more weeks like this I think I’m doing okay

Friend Makin’ Mondays: More Randomness

1. Would you rather visit the doctor or the dentist?

hospyI would go to the dentist… Considering my medical history I fear that every time I go to a doctor’s appointment that my doctor is going to admit me to the hospital. It’s happened many times, and until recently I kept an overnight bag in my car, incase the doctor wants to admit me (they don’t trust me to go home, get some things and return), but they will escort me to the parking structure to get my bag and admit me (that makes me sound really bad… honestly although I gripe I have never run out and snuck home)

2. Would you rather eat broccoli or carrots?

I’m not a big fan of cooked carrots, but I’ll say broccoli, because I like them cooked or raw.

3. Would you rather listen to music or watch TV?

During the summer I don’t watch much TV. Except for Big Brother…. but my TV viewing goes way up in the fall… it’s one of my favorite times of the year…. unfortunately it seems like the TV shows that
I love and invest in are the ones that are canceled. I do listen to music… mostly in the car, or when I’m cleaning, but every night I listen to music to relax before I go to bed.

4. Would you rather own a lizard or a snake?

Neither I want to be a cat….. all on account that my cats seems to have a charmed life

5. Would you rather have a beach holiday or a mountain holiday?

A holiday is a holiday…. I’m not picky! Although I DON’T want to go skiing.

6. Would you rather BE an apple or a banana?

People say this is a strange question, but if anyone has ever done research studies (not medical studies) the one for products, they have very odd screening questions and this is one that was asked of me… and I was like, derp“What the hell kind of question is that?” But to answer your question I said Apple… because it makes good juice…

7. Would you rather be invisible or be able to read minds?

I would rather be invisible, I would NEVER want to read anyone’s mind. I know what I think about sometimes, and I would never want anyone to hear it…. besides what would you say to a person if you heard them thinking someone truly disturbing or destructive?

8. Would you rather be hairy all over or completely bald?

I have never been a hairy person, I shaved my legs in the 6th grade and the legs on my hair has never been the same… I think that I shave my legs maybe once a year. Considering I have lost my hair many times I don’t have a problem wearing wigs… out it to you this way… people have more than one pair of earrings… I have more than one wig…. it’s an accessory..

9. Would you rather be the most popular or the smartest person you know?

In high school I was nether the most popular or the smartest person… but I’m gonna vote for being smarter any day… if Facebook has taught be anything it’s that time becomes the great equalizer… being popular means absolute nothing 20 years after the fact. index

10. Would you rather make headlines for saving somebody’s life or winning a Nobel Prize?

Ooh this is hard…. I would rather save s person a be known for that… but I would totally be happy with the Nobel Prize so I could meet  Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden or Crown Prince Haakon of Norway…

Now it’s your turn to answers the questions on your blog. Don’t forget to come back here after and post a link to your answers and check out the answers of others who post too.

Happy Labor Day

In 1882, Matthew Maguire, a machinist, first proposed the holiday while serving as secretary of the CLU (Central Labor Union) of New York.[Others argue that it was first proposed by Peter J. McGuire of the American Federation of Labor in May 1882,[ after witnessing the annual labor festival held in Toronto, Canada.] Oregon was the first state to make it a holiday on February 21, 1887. By the time it became a federal holiday in 1894, thirty states officially celebrated Labor Day.
