Nail Polish Lottery Club–Week 85

Last week ago I wore Super Star a blue jelly glitter polish from Sinful Colors, I didn’t want to take this one off. and I didn’t have to go through the normal glitter removal process… and one of the reasons it was probably such a breeze to take off was because I peeled it off while watching television….. it happens..

20140805_215901(Let me start by saying that I am STIL kicking myself that I got this in the min… especially since she no longer makes this shade…ugh!!) Black Dahlia is a  scattered holographic greyish black crelly base with iridescent glitters and an insane shimmer that flashes blue, purple and even pink depending on the lighting. And the formula was beyond perfect. I did 2 thin coats, you have to be a little careful with ths polish because it is a little bit on the thick side, but even with it’s slight thickness it dries very well and only one coat of Seche Vite which doesn’t dimensh the holo effect one bit.  The brush (which is equally important) was great and worked really well with this polish. Black Dahlia is apart of the “Set It Free” collection which includes week 81’s Wide Awake .The thing that I liked to most about this polish was the shimmer . I love a shimmer and shine with my nail polish, and I got both in tall orders with this polish. Wearing thisbd polish reminds me that I don’t own or wear enough holo polishes, which is something that I;m working on. The thing that gets me then most is the subtle changes that this nail polish makes, just by moving your hand or a simple change of lighting.

As soon as I put this polish on my nails I was instantly in love. I’ve very curious about why the maker named this polish what she did because it sort of reminds me of the universe with all the different colors and the subtle shifts. Don’t you love a polish that’s girly and super bad ass at the same time? Well this is the perfect one. I actually had someone (after they complemented my manicure) that wasn’t this more of a “winter” color. Excuse me, there are not rules in nail polish, you wear what you want when you want to wear it… besides shimmer and is perfect for every season…as I’ve said before an completely evident by the number of times this brand pops up on the lottery, I am completely in love with these polishes, n my mind Missi Barry can do no wrong and if she’s amenable she can totally send me polish to review (okay self promotion over)

Like every model, you have to get them when they are fresh, and in the case of this model, mini nail polishes simply don’t work with her… she’s a big girl and they usually get lost in all the black fur. I really20140805_215815 like the way this color looks against her black fur…This polish was fantastic and I’m giving it a 10 out of 10…. Different Dimension is available on Etsy and retails for $8.50-$11 for a full size bottle.  Make sure to like their Facebook page for updates and specials!

I Will Not March for Michael Brown

I debated whether or not to post this… because EVERYBODY has their right to their own opinion, but I can’t help but wonder how much the media influenced his train of thought. Like most people I was horrified to hear about the death of Brown, but unlike the author I share the opinion of regardless of whether you chose to take the “wrong” path being gunned down like an animal is not acceptable. I wonder if the authors perspective would change if Michael Brown was a member of his family.

Travis Hurley

In light of the recent tragic events in Ferguson, Missouri, I asked Jon-Michael Brown to serve as a guest blogger. A graduate of Ozark Christian College and Lincoln Christian Seminary, Jon-Michael is a biracial American who lives in the Ferguson-Florissant school district, serves as a youth minister in the area, and is a professor at St. Louis Christian College. His first post, “I Will Not March for Michael Brown,” is below.

The tragedy of Michael Brown’s death has become the latest cause and symbol for justice and equality across America. His name heralds the rallying cry against senseless killings and brutality at the hands of our law enforcement. Yet, his name rings a familiar, but different, truth to me.

I will not march for Michael Brown as I stand for truth and justice.

I live but a few miles from the Ferguson riots, but I’ve been at ground zero my…

Writing Prompt: A misused word, a misremembered song lyric, a cream pie that just happened to be there: tell us about a time you (or someone else) said or did something unintentionally funny.

This question is unfair… seriously unfair… every song is misquoted… either because I can’t hear the words clearly or because damn it that I want to sing it that way. I think Lady GaGa’s songs were made to be misquoted….as long as you’re with the beat pretty much anything sounds good.  That’s just the way life is… and I dare DARE anyone to tell me that they haven’t done it…But you know what get;s me is when I’m singing a song, and have to stop because the words make no sense or the grammar is weird…lord knows I don’t use English good (see what I did there Smile) but nothing takes me out of a song when words are messed up . I found the worst offenders to be 90’s boy bands…Let’s start with on of my personal favorites the Backstreet Boys “Shape of My Heart“Sadness is beautiful, loneliness is tragical” so not only is it one of the most depressing song lyrics. it made up a freakin’ word…. can someone tell me what tragical means? (fuck my life, it’s an actual word) So if tragical means sad… the those lyrics are seriously nuts, cause then wouldn’t that ultimately mean that loneliness is beautiful… which is still sad…. IT’S A CIRCLE OF MISERY!!!

Let’s move on to “Bigger“Add on my uncanny ego, no one’s less humbled than I” my English teacher would have dropped dead on the floor if we would have said that to hear…. something else I just realized… the same person sings both lyrics… I wonder if they were like, “AJ, my man, do us a solid… use your smokey voice to subdue the teenage masses with these shit lyrics”

How about one of my favorites Color Me Badd (yes there were two d’s because they were extra bad) “I Wanna Sex You Up” “Girl, you make me feel real good, we can do it ’til we both wake up” Shouldn’t that be “we can do it ‘til we both go to sleep”? Unless he’s sexing her up while they’re sleeping… then that’s a while different kind of song…and I’m super confused…

Until Next Time…. Don’t Go Jason waterfalls…(see what I did there??)
